Domaine Drouhin Pouilly-Vinzelles '17
$52.00
This is the wine Véronique Drouhin served Brooks, Bradley, and Nate when they visited Domaine Drouhin a few years back. Beautiful wine with just a touch of oak, great for oysters on the half shell!
Domaine Guy Robin Chablis "Vieilles Vignes" '18
$77.00
Aromas of sauteed lemons, crushed oyster shells, lime zest, grass. Energetic, refined; pure citrus flavors. The vines for this wine sit at the top of the slope between premier cru vineyards ‘Montmains’ and ‘Vaillons.’ This is the heart of Chablis! So much “basic” Chablis is grown from miles away from the appellation’s top vineyards, but this wine hails from the same soils as premier crus; it considers grand cru vineyards as its neighbors.
Domaine Michel Sarrazin "Charnailles" Aligoté '18
$55.00
Visiting the family’s ancient estate in Jamblès, a hamlet of some 50 residents, is a bit like going back in time. The family’s winemaking roots run deep here, as there’s been a Sarrazin growing grapes and making wine in this peaceful valley as far back as the seventeenth century. Aromas of red apples, fresh lemon zest, wildflowers. Fresh and light, flavorful; lemons and limes and sea salt.
Flowers Sonoma Coast '18

93 Points Jeb Dunnuck - Starting with the 2018 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast, this classy 2018 has notes of musky pineapple, crushed citrus, and white flowers as well as a kiss of salty minerality. It has bright acidity, beautiful balance, and is just a classic, elegant Sonoma Coast Chardonnay that does everything right. 93 Points Wine Enthusiast - Bursting with fresh, salty acidity, this appellation wine conjures the coast from which it comes, offering beguilingly soft layers of elegant richness. A personal favorite of ours, just a gorgeous wine year after year. 94 Points Vinous - The 2016 Chardonnay Golden Slope shows the more potent, rich side of the Sta. Rita Hills. Candied orange peel, mint, hazelnut, vanilla and tropical overtones give the wine breadth. The Golden Slope is the most overt and voluptuous of the Liquid Farm Chardonnays.

Chenin Blanc
Benoit Gautier "Vouvray de Gautier" Vouvray '18
$44.00
The “Vouvray De Gautier” is winemaker Benoit Gautier’s signature wine of the vintage. It is made from a selection of ripe Chenin Blanc grapes from many of his domaine’s vineyard parcels with flint-clay (argilo-siliceux) soil. The wine matures on its fine lees in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks over four months. There is no malolactic fermentation. In the Spring, Gautier chooses young wines with the sugar-acid balance that he seeks for Vouvray de Gautier. The fruity acidity of the Chenin Blanc is balanced with apricot and pear fruit with and honey notes and just enough residual sugar – the amount varies from year to year in proportion to acidity level – to attain a slightly off-dry finish.
Pinot Blanc
Domaine Weinbach Pinot Blanc '19
$58.00
Very perfumed on the nose with intense pear notes which carry onto the palate. Also some butter and rum raisin notes with lots of juicy acidity. Very long on the palate for the varietal with a contrast of sweet honey and salty minerality. It finishes with racy zippiness. A very versatile wine that is great with appetizers and lighter dishes but also nice as an aperitif.
Pinot Gris & Blends
Au Bon Climat 'Hildegard' Santa Maria Valley '17
$70.00
91 Points Robert Parker - A blend of 50% Pinot Gris, 40% Pinot Blanc and 10% Aligote, the 2017 Hildegard has a fresh nose of quince, white blossoms, hay bale and soft nutty scents plus sliced green pear and baker's yeast. Medium-bodied, it has a good core of fruits and is broad and textured, finishing long.
Livon Pinot Grigio Friuli-Venezia '20
$40.00
Dorino Livon acquired his first vineyards on the Collio hills in 1964, and slowly, plot by plot he expanded his property establishing the Azienda Agricola Livon estate. The winery is now under the direction of the third generation of the family. Beautiful wine with bracing minerality, notes of lime, pear, and white flowers, and a touch of minerality.
Riesling
Domaine Weinbach Riesling '18 Alsace
$60.00
At the foot of the majestic Schlossberg hill in Alsace stands one of the finest estates in all of France. Weinbach produces richly concentrated, fragrant dry Rieslings, for which the Grand Cru Schlossberg vineyard is particularly well-situated. This wine is delightful on the nose with aromas of white blossoms and notes of lime. Shows a fine, delicate entry and nice concentration mid-palate. Offers a wonderful combination of crisp Granny Smith apples and a fine minerality. Juicy with a long, lingering finish.
Sauvignon Blanc & Blends
Cakebread Napa Valley '20
$70.00

Domaine Delaporte "Silex" Sancerre '19
$82.00
Pale gold in color, the Silex Blanc is an elegant embodiment of sauvignon blanc characteristic of the Sancerre region, with a nose of tiny white flowers. In the mouth, it is silky, round, and delicate, with a pleasing richness and complexity on the back palate. Marked with mellow notes of acacia, well-ripened exotic fruits and minerals in the background, balance and refinement are the underpinnings of the Cuvee Silex.

Tasting notes - Clear light, grassy yellow with green hues. Intense aromas of citrus and mineral notes. Dry light bodied. Long finish. Pairing - Enjoy it with fresh seafood, mussels, marinated and grilled fish.
Cabernet Franc
Jean-Maurice Raffault Chinon '18
$44.00
The Jean-Maurice Raffault estate is located in Chinon, in the central Loire Valley, near Tours, and is the northernmost French red wine appellation. The family has been vignerons in Chinon since 1693 and the estate now comprises 40 hectares spread over 6 communes. The fruit for Raffault’s Chinon rouge comes from several parcels on sandy, alluvial soil near the Vienne River. This origin gives a supple, fruity Chinon that is perfect for early drinking and versatile with food. The wine’s bright cherry and raspberry flavors are best appreciated at cellar temperature, so put your bottle in the frig for 5-10 minutes if your house temp runs on the warmer side...look for notes of vanilla and herbs with a fresh finish.
Smith Story Wines, Sonoma '16
$90.00
Alison Smith Story is a native Dallasite, and a great supporter of Rapscallion! The wine exudes traditional spicy aromatic characteristics of Cabernet Franc that is full of complex fruit flavors with soft tannins and freshness which begin with the aroma and then linger on the finish. The 2016 Cabernet Franc demonstrates a bit more intensity than the 2015 the winemaker really enjoys (geek out about!).
Cabernet Sauvignon & Blends
Cakebread Napa Valley '17
$175.00
92 Points Jeb Dunnuck - The base Cabernet from this terrific estate is the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, which checks in as 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, and the balance Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. It has beautiful notes of crème de cassis, graphite, tobacco, and ground herbs as well as a dense, rich, concentrated style on the palate. This terrific Cabernet is going to benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and cruise for upwards of 15 years (or more) in cool cellars.
Château Malescot Saint-Exupery Margaux '18
$178.00
97 Points James Suckling - 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petite Verdot. This full-bodied Margaux has everything you could want from this appellation, offering incredibly complex notes of cassis, tobacco, earth, and spice, sweet tannins, no hard edges, and a great, great finish. It's an incredibly sexy, flawlessly balanced beauty that's going to be relatively approachable in its youth yet age effortlessly on its balance and purity.
Daou Vineyards "Reserve" Napa Valley '19
$75.00
94 Points Wine Advocate - The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve has a deep ruby-purple color and luscious creme de cassis, violet perfume, cast-iron pan and notes of dark, exotic spices. The medium-bodied palate is fresh, silken and lifted, its lively flavors and sweet new oak spices dancing on the extended finish. This was made with 100% free-run juice. It is blended with 15% Petit Verdot and was aged 18 months in 50% new French oak.
Domaine de Chevalier "l'Esprit de Chevalier" Pessac-Léognan '18
$75.00
91 Points Jeb Dunnuck - Checking in as 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot brought up mostly in used barrels, the 2018 Domaine De Chevalier L'Esprit De Chevalier has a rich, dense, medium to full-bodied style with slightly reserved darker currant and cherry fruits, notes of cedary herbs and earth, firm tannin's, and a good finish. While most second wines are up-front and geared for early drinking, this is going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age. It should keep for over a decade. Rating : 91+
Jordan Alexander Valley '16
$135.00
93 Points Wilfred Wong of Wine.com - COMMENTARY: The Jordan Vineyard & Winery Cabernet continues to be one of Sonoma County's top performers since its debut 1976 vintage. I drank many bottles of through the years with fond recall. The 2016 vintage exemplifies beauty, elegance, and balance. TASTING NOTES: This wine offers excellent aromas and flavors of red fruits and savory spices. Its decidedly red currant highlights would pair nicely with a panko-crusted, rosemary-infused, roast rack of lamb.
Leviathan "Red Blend" California '19
$76.00
95 Points James Suckling - Very pure fruit this year with ripe raspberries and fresh currants throughout. Medium to full-bodied with soft, polished tannins and bright, clean fruit. It's really balanced and the finish makes you want to drink it. Subtle and vivid fruit at the end., yet it can improve with age.
O'Shaughnessy Howell Mountain '17
$215.00
96 Points Jeb Dunnuck - The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain offers a slightly darker, earthier profile that carries beautiful black and blue fruits, charcoal, bouquet garni, and some obvious minerality as well as a whiff of espresso. It's rich, full-bodied, concentrated, and beautifully done. Drink it over the coming two decades. Based on 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% each of Merlot and Malbec, and the rest a mix of varieties, it spent 21 months in 80% new French oak.
O'Shaughnessy Napa Valley '18
$175.00
97 Points Wine Enthusiast - Notes of iron and crushed rock lead to a lengthy balance of juicy red fruit and clove. With small amounts of Merlot, Saint-Macaire and Cabernet Franc, it shows a deft hand at blending, with lasting notes of black pepper and nuanced oak.
Peju Napa Valley '19
$78.00
This wine greets the nose with fragrant aromas of dried Mission figs and hints of thyme. The flavors that follow include berry compote, red cherry, vanilla, light brown sugar and hints of cocoa. 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 6% Petite Verdot and 2% Malbec. A bright, juicy wine with many layers and soft supple tannins that lead to an elegant finish.
Rombauer Napa Valley '18
$140.00
91 Points Wilfred Wong of Wine.com - COMMENTARY: The 2018 Rombauer Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon is beautifully designed Napa Valley red. TASTING NOTES: This wine offers excellent aromas and flavors of black fruit, licorice, and oak. Enjoy the wine's stately style with a garlic and rosemary-accented, oven-roasted standing rib roast.
Carignan & Cinsault
Birichino "Car Car Glou Glou Akashita" Old Vine Carignane Lodi '21
$52.00
Birichino "Bechtold Vineyard" Cinsault Lodi '14
$47.00
Planted in 1886, this Cinsault vineyard is the oldest of its kind in the country—perhaps even beyond. The vines are gnarly, head-trained and planted on their own roots. It is not everyday one gets to drink wine from vines planted 120+ years ago. The 2014 exhibits Bechthold’s unusual juxtaposition of being light on its feet in terms of alcohol, extraction and tannin, but somehow on the palate, it remains condensed and concentrated. It reminds us of the leaner 2012 vintage, with its nervy floral violet overtones and freshness, but a shade riper and with the generosity of fruit more characteristic of the 2013. After a little less than a year in neutral French barrels and a single old puncheon, we racked once, and bottled unfiltered in late August of 2015.
Grenache & Blends
Domaine de la Bouïssieres Gigondas '18
$95.00
In the sultry south of France, altitude matters. Wines from Domaine la Bouïssiere hail from some of the highest vineyards in Gigondas, and thus are markedly more balanced, elegant and age-worthy than wines from the lowlands. In the 1960s, Antonin Faravel began to carve his vineyards out of the crumbling stone cliffs of the Dentelles de Montmirail (pictured on the family’s wine labels). He knew that the cooler temperatures and rocky soils would produce perfectly ripe grapes, with better acidic balance and lower alcohol, too. While other winemakers quickly followed Antonin’s lead, Domaine la Bouïssiere without question is the original, high-altitude Gigondas. Aromas of black fruits, pink and white peppers; flavors of blackberries and blue plums. Unctuous texture with silky tannins. PAIRING SUGGESTIONS: Grilled steak, spicy pork sausages, North African-inspired cuisine, such as lamb tagine.
Domaine Paul Autard Châteauneuf-du-Pape '18
$91.00
91 Points Jeb Dunnuck - The base cuvée from this terrific producer, the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape has a relatively modern style in its black raspberry and cassis-driven fruits as well as subtle hints of background oak, vanilla, scorched earth, and white flowers. Beautiful on the palate as well, with medium to full-bodied richness and a seamless, elegant texture, it’s very much in the style of this charming, front end-loaded vintage, and while it’s already hard to resist, I suspect it’s going to drink nicely for 10-12 years. This cuvee is 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre, aged 14 months in barrels, 50% being new.
Domaine Solitude Côtes du Rhône '19
$40.00
The grapes used to make this wine are grown in the stony, limestone and clay terroirs typical of the southern Rhône Valley. It is a blend of three emblematic varietals: Grenache noir, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. The destemmed grapes are vinified in concrete vats and then aged in concrete and stainless-steel vats for a year. The wine is a beautiful ruby-red colour with an intense nose of red berries and spices. It is supple and generous on the palate with a very fine and elegant tannic structure.
Limnio
Domaine Porto Carras "LimNeon" Macedonia '17
$45.00
When you drink Limnio, you are drinking history. It is a grape first mentioned by numerous Ancient Greek writers such as Homer, Hesiod and Polydefkis, making it a unique artifact of ancient viticulture. Deep purple color. Earthy aromas of baked blackberry, fresh parsley, spice cabinet, fertile earth, and orange zest with a lightly tannic, vibrant, dry medium-to-full body and a tingling, medium-length black pepper and cured meats finish with moderate oak flavor. A spicy Greek red with table-friendly tannins and a great herbaceous pop; distinctive and fun.
Malbec
Bodega Lagarde "Primeras Vinas" Gualtallary Mendoza '18
$69.00
95 Points Robert Parker - The wine is tightly wound, austere and with subdued minerality, and the notes of thyme and rockrose slowly unfurl as the wine sits in the glass. It's varietal, characterful and with lots of inner power and energy.
Merlot & Blends
Cakebread, Napa Valley '16
$140.00
92 Points Robert Parker - The 2016 Merlot is made from 65% estate-grown fruit, with 50% coming from the Suscol Springs vineyard and 15% from the Cakebread Winery Ranch vineyard. It was aged 17 months in 44% new French oak. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it has a softly spoken nose of warm plums, blackberry pie and Black Forest cake with suggestions of menthol, tobacco and cloves. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is gently swathed in soft, plush tannins and has loads of juicy black fruits, lifted with a lively line of freshness and finishing with a minty kick.
Château Coutet Saint-Emilion Grand Cru '16
$96.00
In 2017, Bradley and Brooks spent a week in Bordeaux. The afternoon at Château Coutet was the highlight of the trip, and we fell in love with the family's story and history and, of course, the wines. Wow! 92 Points Wine Enthusiast - In the same family for four centuries, this estate is now run organically. A combination of mainly Merlot and Cabernet Franc gives structure and perfumed black fruits that have combined into a dense while balanced wine. Acidity and freshness are developing within the structure.
Peju Napa Valley '17
$60.00
Winemaker Notes - This wine is dark garnet in color and offers alluring aromas of star anise, clove, and sweet tobacco. Notes of cherry, cranberry, and cola are echoed on the palate where underlying acidity and structured tannins promise a long life in the cellar. This wine can be enjoyed with a variety of foods such as roasted lamb, pot roast, blue cheese, and wild mushroom risotto. Blend: 80% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot
Mourvèdre
Casa Castillo Monastrell Jumilla '19
$44.00
Château de Pibarnon Bandol '17
$126.00
Tablas Creek Vineyard Adelaida District Paso Robles '19
$100.00
94 Points Wine Enthusiast - This is a fresh and crunchy style of Mourvèdre, which can be a much more rustic, earthier grape. Aromas of raspberry and hibiscus lead to a taut palate of pomegranate and an underlying earthiness that's varietally familiar.
William Chris, Texas '17
$52.00
Many wine lovers are still a bit hesitant to try a Texas wine, but this Mourvèdre isn't "good for a Texas wine", it's really good wine that happens to be from Texas! The palate has notes of cinnamon and spice with zesty red fruits. Moderate tannins and enough acidity to balance the richness make a wine that just screams for a steak off of Rapscallion's custom wood grill!
Nebbiolo
Clendenen Family Vineyards 'Bricco Buon Natale' Santa Maria Valley '16
$77.00
When you age a wine for over 4 years in barrel, you make sure the fruit is the finest every year. This deep red has aromas and flavors of plums, cherry and dried roses with a wonderful balance between the richness of fruit and complexity of age. Serve with a pork or lamb roast.
Paulo Scavino 'Bricco Ambrogio' Barolo Piedmont '15
$120.00
97 Points James Suckling - Plenty of burnt oranges and lemons, wild strawberries, cedar and spices. The palate is muscular and powerful, veiled in a sheen of grainy and chewy tannins that surround layers of vibrant red fruit.
Ronchi Barbaresco Piedmont '17
$79.00
This is a spectacular price-to-quality ratio wine. Brooks thinks he tastes and smells red twizzler stick, which is accompanied by bright acidity and elegant tannins. Just a gorgeous wine. Winemaker's Notes - Intense and lively garnet red color with subtle orange reflections, intense, persistent and elegant aroma, with fruity hints of raspberry, cherry and strawberry, plum jam. Followed by the ethereal sensation and other more evolved ones such as tobacco and hay, cinnamon, pepper and vanilla; also present balsamic hints such as mentholated. In the mouth it is full, dry, ample and full-bodied, with a well-integrated tannin texture, warm and persistent. Serve with grilled red meat; pork sausages; mushroom dishes.
Pinot Noir
Abbazia di Novacella Pinot Nero Alto Adige '20
$52.00
A stylish and elegant Pinot Noir rather than full-bodied and muscular. A straightforward, ripe red with cherry and sweet-strawberry character and hints of citrus. It's medium-to-full-bodied with chewy tannins and a fresh finish.
Ant Hill, Sonoma Coast '19
$68.00
In the $60 range, there is not a better West Coast Pinot Noir available in the Texas market than this small-production cult classic. Winemaker's Notes - A brilliant ruby color. Lifted and inviting aromas of cherry, dried roses, cardamom and tea leaf, with dark cherry, a deep, base note that continues to transfer to the palate. This blend of all our Sonoma Coast sites has come together beautifully as a mid-weight, textural wine with tons of energy and delectable length—fresh and drinkable. This turns gorgeously floral and spicy over time in the glass.
Au Bon Climat, Santa Barbara County '18
$49.00
Great value! This well crafted Pinot from Au Bon Climat and recently-deceased legend Jim Clendenen is miles above others in the same price category. This is a blend of Pinot Noir from six premiere coastal vineyards in Santa Barbara County: Bien Nacido, Rancho Vinedo, Le Bon Climat, Los Alamos Vineyard, Kick-On Vineyard, and Pence Ranch. Jim also includes a dash of Mondeuse grown at Bien Nacido Vineyard in the blend. The fruit was fermented in open top tanks for about two weeks before being transferred to neutral French oak barrels to age for about 10 months.
Domaine Joseph Drouhin Côte de Beaune ’17
$120.00
Site: on the hill overlooking the city of Beaune. This appellation should not be confused with Côte de Beaune-Villages (a blend of various villages from the Côte de Beaune). History & tradition: this is a particular wine since it comes from the vines of the Joseph Drouhin estate (1 hectares - 2.5 acres) as well as from the younger vines of Clos des Mouches and other Premier Crus of Beaune that have been declassified (a Beaune wine can be declassified into Côte de Beaune). 92 Points Wilfred Wong of Wine.com - COMMENTARY: The 2017 Joseph Drouhin Côte de Beaune delivers excellent richness and style. TASTING NOTES: This wine is tight-knit and beautifully-built. Pair its aromas and flavors of bright red fruit, and attractive dried leather with duck confit, lentils, and wild rice.
El Pino Club "The Cusp" Russian River Valley '19
$90.00
Emeritus Russian River Valley '19
$70.00
Flowers, Sonoma Coast '19
$80.00
Flowers is one of the great wineries of the Sonoma Coast, and year after year it produces stunningly excellent wines. 92 Points Jeb Dunnuck - The 2019 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is deeper ruby-hued and has pure, classic, textbook notes of ripe cherries, raspberries, spring flowers, and underbrush. The balance is spot on, it has ripe, present tannins, good freshness, and a great finish.
François Carillon Bourgogne '19
$60.00
The Carillon family has been in the wine business in Puligny-Montrachet going back to the 16th century. For those who may not be familiar with this estate, Francois Carillon is the son of Louis Carillon who was one of the greatest winemakers of all time in Puligny. His eponymous domaine was rivalled only by those of Leflaive and Sauzet at the time. Today this estate has, perhaps, surpassed the quality of the father’s and has firmly cemented itself in the top echelon of producers in the region. Light red fruits, earthy and mushroomy character, this exemplifies what an easy-drinking Red Burgundy should be, and the price is right.
Patz & Hall Sonoma Coast '17
$75.00
92 Points Wine & Spirits - James Hall blends this wine from 18 vineyards, mostly in the Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley. He lets the fermentation start slowly, with ambient yeasts, then finishes it with cultured yeasts, aging the wine in French oak barrels (45 percent new) and bottling it unfiltered. The wine is beefy and youthfully tannic, even as the color is transparent in the glass. Behind the tannins, there’s a tight, cool and saline pinot with plush black-cherry flavors.
Pellegrini, Russian River Valley '18
$55.00
91 Points Wine Enthusiast - Earth, clove, nutmeg and forest floor dominate the medium-bodied palate of this smooth, spicy wine, a blend from several neighborhoods within the appellation. Rhubarb and strawberry develop through a creamy center.
Remoissenet Pere & Fils Bourgogne '18
$70.00
Aromas of red summer berry fruit, red currant, baking spices. Tangy, refined, with suave tannins; flavors of pomegranate jam, red cherries, spice box. The team at Remoissenet selects top Pinot Noir fruit from their many estate-owned and biodynamically cultivated vineyards from both the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits for this delicious red.

Sea Smoke "Ten" Santa Rita Hills '19

Stoller Family Estate, Dundee Hills '19
$48.00
92 Points James Suckling - Fresh red and dark cherries are framed in aromas of fine-ground baking spice here. The palate has a very smooth, refined feel with long, silky tannins, swirling around a core of fresh, red-cherry and berry flavor. Their finest release under this estate label.
Sangiovese & Blends
Caparzo Rosso di Montalcino '19
$45.00
Brooks and Bradley hosted a Zoom Wine Tasting with the daughter of Elisabetta Angelini, the owner. Blown away by the price-to-quality ratio of this bottling, it was immediately put on the Rapscallion wine list! 91 Points James Suckling - Dried-cherry, smoke and walnut aromas follow through to a medium body with light tannins and a succulent finish. Linear and bright. Perfect with duck and pork!
Salcheto 'Biskero' Chianti, Tuscany '18
$37.00
WInemaker's notes - CHIANTI Biskero D.O.C.G. 2018 An easy drinking, everyday wine composed of Sangiovese (85%), Canaiolo, Mammolo and Merlot. Part of this wine is matured in 300 – liter American oak “tonneaux”. The 2018 vintage showed out to be quiet “classical”, having been relatively fresh and rainy both in spring than summer; its wines turned out to be pretty balanced and elegant.
Syrah / Shiraz & Blends
Jonata 'Todos' Ballard Canyon, Santa Ynez Valley '15
$99.00
Without question, the Jonata Todos is Brooks' favorite "kitchen sink" big red blend from the West Coast. So complex, so rich, but still somehow still so balanced. Amazing. 94 Points Decanter - In the words of Jonata Winemaker Matt Dees, the rough recipe for the “Todos” blend is “~50% Syrah, ~30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and ~20% chaos.” A blend of both red and white varietals from the Rhône, Bordeaux and Italy, this avant-garde blend manages to successfully express the expansiveness of the property from which it comes. The nose is massive and dark, containing aromas of bramble, mesquite and burning embers. The palate is laden with roasted black and blue fruits, glued together by tree sap and black pepper. A truly unique powerhouse of a wine.
Two Hands 'Gnarly Dudes' Barossa '18
$69.00
93 Points Jeb Dunnuck - The 2018 Gnarly Dudes is also terrific, offering a ripe, medium to full-bodied style that has notable freshness and purity in its blue fruits, spice, eucalyptus, and minty aromas and flavors. Beautifully balanced and downright silky on the palate, count me impressed. Drink it any time over the coming 7-8 years
Tannat
Y. Rousseau, Paso Robles '17
$74.00
Yannick Rousseau is the King of California Tannat. Yannick cut his teeth making Tannat in the southwest of France, and moved to California with the dream of making Tannat. Mission accomplished! Dark, burly, and made for steak, this is a bold, dark wine!
Tempranillo
Cune "Riserva" Rioja '15
$48.00
92 Points James Suckling - Very pretty plum, cherry and hints of cedar. Medium body, with soft tannins and a delicious finish. Shows the real Rioja character. Delicious always. Drink now.
Zinfandel & Blends
Chateau Montelena Calistoga Napa Valley ’17
$78.00
This Zinfandel is aged 16 months in French, Irish, and American Oak (15% new). Winemaker Matt Crafton shared the following regarding this vintage: "The 2017 vintage will remembered as a warm growing season overall, with an early start to harvest and quite low yields. The effects of the drought induced vine stress early in the spring and high temperatures persisted throughout the summer. These conditions forged incredible density and ripeness of flavor in the fruit and really let the old vine character show. Typically, these vintages need some time in glass for the flavors and texture of the wine to integrate."
Turley "Old Vines" California '19
$72.00
93 Points Robert Parker - Medium to deep ruby, the 2019 Zinfandel Old Vines Paso Robles offers gregarious peaches, apricots, dried flowers and orange peel with loads of underlying spices. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly styled, silky and juicy but packed full of spiced fruit flavors, and it finishes long and uplifted. Rating: 93+
